“I took the new expanded tour recently and found it completely appealing. The host was personable and the stories were entertaining and true, which in our day and age is indeed a novelty. Although I've lived in the Bay Area for a long time 90% of the tour was completely new to me, and revealing about our town. I'd recommend it to someone who likes history and wants something different. ”

“I spent a lovely October afternoon on this tour with my adult son and we both enjoyed it. The tour leader, a talented actress, had a portable microphone for sound and a movable cart with large illustrations for added interest. The tour was well paced and the stories were fun."

"I'm a third generation San Franciscan and even I didn't know these fascinating stories. And if you have out of town guests you couldn't find a better way to experience some of San Francisco's wild past than with this walking tour. Michelle, the guide, is poised, articulate, funny and a perfect hostess. It's a rollicking good tour and I highly recommend it.”

"This is a great "tour" if you are looking for something outdoors that is entertaining and also historical. The tour guide (Michelle in my case) was great, and the history of various scandals was interesting. Imagining old SF while surrounded by the current version may be tough for some, but totally added to the experience for me. Also, this tour starts and ends at the ferry building, a great spot to grab some food or a coffee before/after the walk."

"Anyone visiting San Francisco would have fun on Crooks Tour, even jaded San Franciscans who've seen it all. Besides the amazement of hearing 'here's what happened right here, on this very spot", the mix of crime and history, city art and knock-out Bay views offers something for the whole family. Best of all, the weary local host will be surprised right along with their out-of-town guests. Who doesn't like good crime, mystery and local gossip? It's a bit like walking through Law and Order in the Bay, with the guides in costume. Very knowledgable, our questions brought out more anecdotes. It was a lovely slow paced walk, handicapped (and stroller) accessible, with non-stop factoids and stories that made the waterfront come alive to a pre-tourist day and age. You won't see the wharf in the same way after the Crooks Tour."
